I have 10 years of working experience in the industry in the UK.  I’ve worked with Revit Structure (BIM) and AutoCAD, and doing design calculations in new residential & existing buildings.

Describe your role at BDI and the key areas you specialise in?

Project Engineer specialising in residential structural engineering design.

What kind of projects do you typically work on?

As a structural engineer at BDI, I am responsible for producing structural design calculations for existing residential buildings, including extensions, alterations and loft conversions.

My work also supports projects involving roof and house refurbishments resulting from insurance claims.

I assess existing structural conditions and provide the necessary calculations to support repair or alteration works, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, and deliver safe and efficient structural solutions or residential or assessments in commercial buildings.

What’s been your most memorable project at BDI so far?

Silverdale, Princess Road, Lostock – Proposed 2-storey front and rear extension and structural alterations.

The Corn House, Wilmslow – Structural alterations & Extension.

The First Coach House, Knutsford – Structural alterations & Extension.

The Gables, Knutsford – Structural alterations & loft conversion
