After graduating with a MEng in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Leeds, Micaela contacted BDI again, as she had previously undertaken summer placements with them, and she was offered a full-time job.

If you could meet any historical figure, who would you choose and why?

Dante Alighieri. Because I’d like to listen to him recite the Divine Comedy.

If you could be anywhere in the world right now where would you be?

I would like to be at the Yuyuan Garden in the Old City of Shanghai. It is one of the most magical places I have ever seen.

What is the worst job you have ever done?

Waitress.

What is your favourite food?

Pizza, as long as it’s authentic Italian pizza!

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have with you?

A lighter, a knife and a Kindle with a lot of books on it.

What item, that you don’t have already, would you most like to own?

A guitar so I could start learning how to play it.

What are your hobbies / favourite pastimes?

I like reading, watching movies and despite moving from Italy four years ago already, I unfortunately still love watching trashy Italian TV programmes
