This retro fitted ‘green roof’ which was part of an innovative ‘green’ project, designed by Duncan Copley, at Leven Valley C.E Primary School in Cumbria. This exciting project was part of a scheme designed to inspire children to want to learn about and care for the environment. The outdoor space named the ‘Hidden Green Valley’ was phase 2 of the project. The brief was to create an outdoor learning space set within the central Quad.

BDI completed a foundation assessment and advice was provided based upon the findings of trial holes as to the suitability of the existing foundations. In addition they also assessed the existing timber structure of the school and advised on the new timber window structure to support the new green roof.  The green roof was installed by Hertanlan UK.
